Just Cats Veterinary Services - The Woodlands, TX - Cindy McManis, DVM Diplomate ABVP (Feline)Cindy McManis, DVM Diplomate ABVP (Feline)

Dr. Cynthia McManis received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1985. She developed her interest in cats during her first year post-graduation. Little was known about cats at this time and they were treated like small dogs. She began to actively pursue more education and information regarding feline health care and joined the Academy of Feline Medicine in 1989. When the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners approved feline practice as a specialty board in 1995, she was in the first class to sit for the exam. Currently, she is 1 of only 70 ABVP certified feline practitioners in the world. Dr. McManis founded Just Cats Veterinary Services in 1994.

Outside of her clinic cases, she is a feline internal medicine consultant for Veterinary Information Network, a web based resource for veterinarians all over the world. She established an ABVP residency site at Just Cats in 2008 and mentors new graduates as well as seasoned practitioners who are interested in achieving ABVP certification.

Dr. McManis enjoys training and racing triathlons and has completed 5 Ironman events as well as many half irons and shorter distances. She also loves medical mystery novels, comedy films and challenging internal medicine cases. She is owned by 2 kitties Amante ("Monty") and La Mariquita ("Mari"), plus Momma Kitty and O'Malley at the hospital.

Dr. Kira Ramdas, DVM

Dr. Kira Ramdas joined the Just Cats team in 2011 after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine. She attended Tulane University as an undergraduate, and when she wasn't evacuating for hurricanes or singing a cappella with Green Envy, she was studying for her degrees in Cellular and Molecular Biology, and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She completed a 2-year feline practice residency at Just Cats and particularly appreciates working with infectious diseases, and building relationships with clients and cats from kittenhood to old age. Dr. Ramdas relishes educating clients on animal health issues as a contributor for www.TexVetPets.org, and she is also a published author with the CDC journal Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Ramdas has been married nine years to the love of her life, Rahul. They welcomed twin girls to the family in 2015 that adore the cats far more than the cats will ever like them, and have three fabulous adopted cats. The herd includes Tobias Funke-the Hurricane Katrina refugee, Dallas-the plastic plant gourmand, and Pippin (the favorite...shhhhhh). She enjoys reading, audiobooks, participating exuberantly with her local wine...I-mean-book-club, libraries, listening to movie soundtracks, bingewatching dramas on television, traveling to exotic lands to eat and sightsee (and play with native kitties), poorly imitating the dance sequences in Bollywood movies, Chick-Fil-A, tissues with lotion (for those unfortunate cat allergies), fuzzy socks, chocolate, watching her daughters explore new things, and visiting The Happiest Place on Earth - Disneyworld. >^..^<
